Central Valley
This
is the heart of Costa Rica and the home of the
capital city San José. Due to the elevation the
mild climate in this region is perfect. In
addition to golf this region is home to Arenal
Volcano, cloud forest, whitewater rafting, and a
multitude of other activities highlighting the
natural beauty of Costa Rica.
The hotel
properties we recommend in this area are diversified
and give you the option of choosing the best one for
your vacation plans. Three are in San José proper
for those looking for nightlife and a short transfer
to the golf courses, two are situated next to the
Cariari Country Club, and two are west of the
airport in beautiful natural settings.

Arenal Volcano at La
Fortuna
Arenal
Volcano, one of the ten most active volcanoes in
the world, is a fascinating natural wonder and
must visit destination for many travelers to
Costa Rica. The volcano was asleep for hundreds
of years and exhibited a single crater at its
summit, with minor fumaroles activity, covered
by dense vegetation. In 1968 it had an eruption
and destroyed the small town of Tabacón. Now one
of our recommended hotels is called Tabacón and
has a great view of the volcano. But keep in
mind that it's possible to visit here and never
see any action.....no guarantees. The area is
beautiful with loads of outdoor activities and a
number of properties offering great hot springs.
A nice break between the golf in San José and
your beach destination.

Pacific Northwest
Guanacaste
province is the most northwestern province of Costa
Rica along the Pacific Ocean. After the government
declared it a tourist zone in the late 90's the area
has seen tremendous growth in the tourism industry.
If beach time and all the activities that are water
related is what you are looking for then a visit to
Guanacaste is perfect.

Central Pacific Coast &
Southern Pacific Coast
The
beach area located closest to San José is now just
an hour and a half drive. The beach town of Jacó is
centrally located in this region and also closest to
the La Iguana golf course. Like the Pacific
Northwest it has a long coastline of beautiful
beaches and great sport fishing. An hour South of
Jacó is the popular town of Manuel Antonio and the
Manuel Antonio National Park. Costa Rica has twenty
five national parks and Manuel Antonio National Park
is perhaps the most visited park in Costa Rica. The
park consists of three separate beaches that are
home to many of the animals, plants and flowers that
are Costa Rica's unique attractions; Monkeys,
sloths, iguanas, toucans and scarlet macaws.

Travel Tip for 2012
With all the signs pointing to travel costs
rising in the New Year, what's the
money-conscious traveler to do? You can still
cut expenses if you strategize ahead of time,
whether your travel dates and destinations are
fixed or not. If you must travel to a certain
place at a certain time, it's wise to plan
ahead. "Book very early," says Cynthia Brough, a
spokeswoman with AAA. "With airlines cutting capacity
worldwide, less capacity typically leads to increased
prices. If consumers are planning vacations in 2012, they
should be looking to plan those vacations now."
