Arenal
Volcano at La Fortuna |
Arenal
Volcano, one of the ten most active volcanoes in the
world, is a fascinating natural wonder and must
visit destination for many travelers to Costa Rica.
The volcano was asleep for hundreds of years and
exhibited a single crater at its summit, with minor
fumaroles activity, covered by dense vegetation. In
1968 it had an eruption and destroyed the small town
of Tabacón. Now one of our recommended hotels is
called Tabacón and has a great view of the volcano.
But keep in mind that it's possible to visit here
and never see any action.....no guarantees. The area
is beautiful with loads of outdoor activities and a
number of properties offering great hot springs. A
nice break between the golf in San José and your
beach destination. Pura vida, |
